The Carlilian Foundation Releases 2025 Grant Program

$380,000 planned for distribution this year

The Carlilian Foundation plans to distribute about $380,000 in grants in 2025 to eligible 501(c)3 non-profits that serve the people of Schenectady County, NY.

There are two distinct grant programs offered:

The Green Spaces Initiative (GSI) is intended to provide support for transformative projects in underserved areas that improve the urban environment, inclusive of but not limited to parks, green spaces, gardens, beautification and recreational opportunities in Schenectady County.

Community Grants are open to any non-profit that serves Schenectady County, NY. Funding is restricted for capital improvements or hard assets needed by organizations to enhance their ability to serve the community.

In addition, each year funds are earmarked for maintenance and improvements to Schenectady’s Central Park Rose Garden. The garden has been lovingly restored, cared for and enhanced by the Rose Garden Restoration Committee, in part thanks to the long-term financial support of The Carlilian Foundation, as directed in the estate of the Foundation’s founder, Charles W. Carl, Jr.
